Kathmandu – The teaser for the film Rimai, directed by Khil Bahadur Gurung, has been released. On Tuesday, the production team unveiled the nearly 2-minute teaser, while also announcing that the film’s release date has been moved up by one week. Originally slated for release on Bhadra 27, the film will now hit theaters nationwide on Bhadra 20 (early September).
The teaser hints at a mysterious, thrilling, and emotional story. It showcases a narrative blending rural life, culture, love, pain, and revenge. Dayahang Rai’s intense role, Rishma Gurung’s heartfelt presence, Arpan Thapa’s enigmatic character, and Buddhi Tamang’s powerful performance have already captured audience attention.
The film's cinematography and dialogues promise to portray deep social realities. A tense scene at the end of the teaser suggests that conflict will play a significant part in the plot. With a strong representation of Gurung traditions, the teaser has sparked excitement and curiosity among viewers, according to the filmmakers.
Produced under the banner of Gorkha Siranchowk & Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment, the film also stars Gaumaya Gurung, Kavita Ale Magar, Mao Tse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Veer Maya Gurung, Veerbal Ghale, DB Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar, among others.
The film is written by Upendra Subba and shot by Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Veerbal Ghale serves as the executive producer, while Tika Gurung, Jit Yatri Gurung, and Dun Bahadur Ghale are producers. Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire are co-producers. The film features music by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwar Gautam, Kiran Chamling Rai as chief assistant director, Bishnu Mainali as production manager, and Mitra D. Gurung as editor.
