Kathmandu: Actor Saugat Malla has been officially signed for the film based on Guru Prasad Mainali’s acclaimed short story "Paral Ko Aago". According to the production team, Saugat will play the central role of “Juthe Dhamai” in the movie. He was formally brought on board this Thursday.
With Saugat's inclusion, the main cast lineup of "Paral Ko Aago" is now complete. The film, produced by Sushil Pokharel, features a notable ensemble that includes Prakash Saput, Suhana Thapa, Srijana Adhikari, Shankar Acharya, Kishor Bhandari, Kuldeep Adhikari, Saru Bhandari, Renu Neupane, and Jack Shrestha.
The production team has also ensured a strong music lineup. Lyricists Surendra Rana, Man Bahadur Mukhia, and Prakash Saput will contribute to the soundtrack, while veteran composer Shanti Thatal, along with Satya Swaroop and Prakash Saput, will handle the music composition. The film is being made with official permission from the Mainali Story Award Trust.
Directed by Laxman Sunar, filming is set to begin on Bhadra 26 (September 11) in the Myagdi area. According to producer Pokharel, the film is being developed with a focus on delivering a strong social message, and the team is currently working with full enthusiasm.
Sankalpa Bhujel will handle cinematography, Ramji Lamichhane is the choreographer, Sushil Devkota is the screenwriter, Sulakshan Bharati is the script doctor, and Nagendra Ghimire is the production manager.
"Paral Ko Aago", which was previously adapted into a film 45 years ago by director Pratap Subba, is originally part of Mainali’s short story collection "Naso"
