The Nepali narrative film "Yo Man Ta Mero Nepali Ho", which was released on Ashar 27 (July 11), is now successfully running on its 35th day of screening, i.e., in its 5th week in Nepal. “This film has truly won over audiences. Although the number of viewers each day is modest, they are coming regularly to watch it. It’s also in the Nepali language, which I really liked,” said Bhushan Manandhar, manager of Ashta Narayan Hall in Balaju.
The film, which has received positive feedback from audiences, stars Vijay Baral — famed for "Purna Bahadurko Sarangi" — in the lead role. Alongside him, the cast includes Roshan Shrestha, Wilson Bikram Rai, Buddhi Tamang, and actress Ayusha Samal.
Currently being shown in various cinemas across the country in its 5th week, the movie will also have a special screening for the Nepali-speaking community in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, August 16, at the Capitol Theatre. Director Mitra Pradhan mentioned that after a recent show in Pittsburgh, USA, there has also been demand from Ohio audiences, prompting them to organize the screening.
The film is being praised as one that the younger generation must watch, for its commendable effort to preserve and promote the Nepali language, literature, and art. Presented by Padma Ishwar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the movie is produced by Gyan Bahadur Pradhan Roshan, with the story and direction by Mitra Pradhan and the screenplay and dialogue written by Shivam Adhikari.
